5 Years…
5 years ago, I committed to a promise to myself to show up every day for the last 30 days of the year. This meant getting in a workout and enough activity to close the rings on my Apple watch.
Closing out the year strong felt good, so I decided to start the year strong. And then 100 days, which lead to a streak that has stretched to over 5 years.
Over time, I discovered what truly made my daily walk a can’t miss event as I shifted from me thinking of it as something I needed to effort my way through into something that helped me find my flow again.
I also gained a better sense of what ‘counted’ in order to maintain my consistency. I share all about this in my journal entry as part of my other business about how to set a minimum threshold of showing up for myself, even on the busiest of days.
Taking the time to step outside, to literally step away from life and see things from a different perspective has proven its value to me through the years.
It also gives me an opportunity to feel like I am contributing to make the world a better place, one smile, one wave, one connection at a time.
How will showing up for yourself more consistently change your life?
